This year’s theme is ‘Demonstrating Excellence and Innovation in Teaching Tourism’ with Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure, Mr Ken Skates AM, as our opening Keynote Speaker.

We have included a keynote debate on the EU referendum result to allow time for positions to be outlined and for members to debate what matters to them currently by offering an opportunity to come together at conference as we face the challenges of a changing future together.

Also for the third year running, we are including a PhD Colloquium to encourage students to present at an established conference, meet potential employers and get constructive feedback in a friendly, supportive environment.

CONFERENCE THEMES

We welcome abstracts around the following themes:

It is expected that the papers will be delivered in many ways: conceptual, discursive, critical, workshop based, experiential, or information dissemination. We welcome delegates’ perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that teaching Tourism and getting the Tourism voice heard bring to us in all realms of Higher Education.

·       PhD Colloquium: Progress in Tourism & Events

Abstracts should include background, practical implications, methods and/or data sources, and indicative findings of the paper.   They should be submitted by email to secretary@athe.org.uk  by 1st October 2016using the attached abstract form.  All abstracts will be subject to a review process.

We look forward to see you in Cardiff in December!
