The new OECD Tourism Committee?s publication Tourism and the Creative Economy  - prepared with the support of the Ministry for Sport, Culture and Tourism of Korea - will also be launched as part of this event.

 

Interested countries are encouraged to participate. You may share this note with relevant persons who may be interested in attending. Due to capacity constraints, the number of participants is limited. You are therefore invited to signal your interest in attending to Jane Stacey (jane.stacey@oecd.org) by the 19 July 2014.

We invite you or your representative to a workshop on Tourism and the Creative Economy, which will take place on the 4th and 5th September 2014 at the Ars Electronica Center in Linz, Austria.

 

The workshop will bring together international experts from tourism and the creative industries to exchange visions and new ideas to strengthen the linkages between these sectors.

 

The event is organised in co-operation with the OECD, the Tourism Department of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, the Tourism Office Linz, the Creative Region Linz & Upper Austria and Ars Electronica Linz.

 

Please find attached the invitation including the draft programme. The event will be held in English language only.

 

Please note that as the number of participants is limited, this is an invitation-only event. We therefore ask that you register at your earliest convenience and at the latest by 14th August 2014.

Participants are kindly requested to make their own travel and hotel arrangements. As the event takes place during the Ars Electronica Festival, it is advised to book your hotel early. Hotel and travel information can be found in the draft programme attached.

Call for Papers

Manchester Metropolitan University is proud host of the Experience EuroCHRIE 2015 conference.

In The Experience Economy, Pine and Gilmore called for economic sectors to shift from selling services to selling experiences. While services are intangible, experiences are distinguished as being memorable. Global pioneers in the experience economy have sought opportunities to increase their competitive edge and strategic advantage by viewing services as experiences.

Experience EuroCHRIE 2015 conference will seek to place into an industrial and academic context the hospitality, tourism and events industries and the experience economy.

We invite the submission of research and practice conference papers and/or poster presentations from academics, industry practitioners and students on one of the following research themes:
