FW: ITSA 2016, London - CFP Deadline approaching - 30th May

Dear list members, and with apologies for cross posting!

The deadline for submissions to the main streams of the International Tourism Studies Association 6th Biennial Conference at the University of Greenwich in London from 17-19th August is fast approaching.  The extended deadline is 30th May.  You can view more information about the conference here:

http://www.gre.ac.uk/bus/events/itsa2016/home

There are additional special sessions that have been publicised, with their own CFP and deadlines of 30th June.  These are on 'Dark Tourism and Cities' (please email R.Powell@greenwich.ac.uk for info) and 'Communist Heritage and Tourism' (please email K.Iankova@greenwich.ac.uk).  Two more special sessions will be announced over the next two weeks.

So far, we have accepted abstracts from 22 countries - ITSA 2016 will be a very international conference!  If you would like to submit an abstract for a paper or a presentation, or to propose a session, or to submit a full paper, please follow the guidelines here:

http://www.gre.ac.uk/bus/events/itsa2016/paper-submissions

Our keynotes include:

Professor Cara Aitchinson, Vice Chancellor of St Mark and St John University, UK

Professor Alexis Pappathanassis, Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, Germany

Dr Perunjodi Naidoo, University of Technology, Mauritius

As a special session at the conference, Professor Phillip Pearce, James Cook University, Australia, will be chairing a discussion between young emerging scholars in tourism on the challenges and opportunities facing tourism scholars at the start of their careers, and those working in emerging economies.

Next week, the full conference programme will be published on the website, including a social programme that will take in some of London's most impressive tourist attractions, as well as events held on the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich.

If you have any questions about the conference, please get in touch with me directly at j.s.kennell@gre.ac.uk

I hope to see you in Greenwich!

Kind Regards,

James
