Tourism is a highly successful, but contested social phenomenon, comprising both complex business and multifaceted stakeholder relationships seeking to attract, influence and respond to the needs of a diverse and dynamic global marketplace. Recognizing, understanding and responding promptly to tourism trends is an essential practice required by all stakeholders involved in travel, tourism and hospitality.
By offering a forum through which impactful debates can be stimulated, we hope to add value and enhance knowledge about contemporary and projected areas of research in tourism and hospitality. This international conference recognises the vital role of industry leaders, policy makers, NGOs and researchers to work together in seeking practical and innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by tourism and hospitality in fulfilling their widely debated importance. While the focus on Policy, Practice and Performance provides a unifying context reflective of the increased research in the fields, the themes identified provide a framework for discussion.
Built upon the University of Brighton’s tradition of hosting cutting edge international conferences and symposia, the conference aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and debate in the areas of policy, practice and performance that will expand the intellectual landscape upon which the tourism and hospitality sectors depend. This event will bring together industry leaders, educators, researchers, scholars and practitioners involved in the Tourism and Hospitality domain.
